I’ve worked in some form of customer service for over 40 years. I’ve also worked with real estate agents when I purchased or sold homes in the past, so I know what I personally expect from a REALTOR®. Most importantly…I’m truly passionate about what I do. I love people, love real estate, and simply LOVE my job.
I began my North Carolina real estate career with Prudential, transitioned to a RE/MAX office in Cary NC, and in the fall of 2010 moved to Raleigh Cary Realty, a small but very experienced and customer focused real estate firm with offices in Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina. This was probably the best professional move I’ve ever made. I now have the freedom to “be myself” instead of conforming to some structured business model so many big name firms have.
In 2000 I designed, and was my own general contractor, in the construction of my home in Raleigh, North Carolina (see photos below). I also have a lot of “sweat equity” in this property. You can imagine the things I learned during that process! Building materials, construction techniques, State, County, and local building requirements, codes and guidelines…as well as plumbing, electrical, septic, well, and HVAC systems…not to mention managing the project from start to finish. That experience, in addition to my previous career in the Automotive Industry, and 8 years of software consulting, makes me rather self sufficient in so many ways. I simply know stuff. I’m often called “MacGyver” because I seem to know a little bit about a whole lot of things. I’ve been around the block a few times, so what I know comes from experience, not talk. When you choose me to represent you, the difference will be clear. I’m not a paper pusher, and I will never “sell” anyone anything. My job is to guide you and protect you throughout the buying and selling process, and I’m darn good at it! (see my Testimonials)
My absolute passion for customer service is what makes me want to go to work each day. I love helping First Time Homebuyers because I have so much to offer based on personal and professional experiences, but I also enjoy working with experienced home buyers and sellers because they’ve been through it all before and quickly recognize I’m not your typical REALTOR®. When something’s different people notice, and remember!
On a personal note: I’m in a wonderful, loving relationship with an amazing woman who stirs my heart every day (we were married in July of 2016!). I love to play basketball, run, hike, fish, and travel…pretty much anything outdoors or near the water. I especially look forward to my annual sailing trips to the British Virgin Islands with my dear friends. It’s my way of recharging my batteries. I put my heart and soul into my real estate business, and helping my clients each and every day. Now that I’m past the 60 year old mark battery recharging seems to be more important than ever!
